Effects of Aging on Your Skin

effects of aging on your skinLooking at natural ways to minimize the effects of aging on your skin, if you live in hot areas it is even more important for you to take care of your skin.

If you want to maintain a youthful appearance without going through the pain and expense of plastic surgery, there are some simple steps you can take to give your skin a youthful glow. Try these suggestions to help your skin appear soft and supple.

Do not scowl smile and be happy.

Frowning increases the chance of  wrinkles on your facial skin. Before the skin specialists reveled that the sun could also cause your skin to age faster, the older generation would always be outside in the sun,  and that was found to increase the effects of aging on your skin.

Drink plenty of water

This tip will ensure that your skin is well hydrated and reduce the appearance of fine lines.

Find a gentle product to exfoliate your skin

By lightly removing the dead cells on the surface of your skin, you will allow the healthy living cells beneath them to shine.

Find a light moisturizer for your facial skin.

This will help to keep your face soft and reduce small lines that are caused by overly dry skin. You might consider a tinted moisturizer for an added glow.

Try some exercises designed to strengthen your facial muscles.

There are many books and websites dedicated to this purpose.

By keeping the muscles toned, you will maintain a better appearance, slowing down the effects of aging on your skin.

Choose your foods wisely

If you eat a diet that supplies the vitamins and minerals you need, your skin will reflect it. Your skin is an example of how your overall health is going.

Take a vitamin E supplement every single day

This essential vitamin will help your skin to heal itself and will provide moisture from within your body. If you develop a small pimple or other flesh disturbance, you can break open a tablet and apply a small amount of the Vitamin E to the open wound.

You can keep a healthy glow to your skin by following these simple suggestions. Eat well, drink plenty of water, and exfoliate your skin for a perfect beginning. Follow up with regular facial exercises and a daily dose of vitamin E for fabulous skin.

Great tips Rita. Looking after our skin, really does come from the inside as in what we eat and drink.
I would be interested to know about the facial exercises. We exercise our bodies so it makes sense to exercise the muscles in the face also.

What great ways to naturally and easily prevent the effects of aging on your skin! Definitely think the best one is to not scowl!! Always smile :)

  4. I really regret baking myself in the sun when I was younger as I know it will come back to bite me and increase the aging process of my skin. Not smoking is also another great tip as this really ages you as well.

  5. I agree with Jackie – baking in the sun when you’re young has got to be the worst – and also smoking. Not that the young kids today listen – they still think a tan is ‘healthy’.
Some great tips Rita – thanks :)

Good advise, it always comes back to, we are what we eat. Like the idea of facial exercises, wonder if they cover the neck and chin. I agree with the comments above regarding smoking and aging.

    Hi Jenny,
I found a couple of books on Facial exercises

  8. I can definitely imagine that the sun is responsible for rapid damage to our skin, and we need to look after it while we are still young. Food would definitely be another critical factor.
